After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Well folks, home from surgery already, drugged up to the eyeballs. ??? Hopefully they have fixed it properly this time, discovered torn cartilage on the backside of the hip joint resulting in more bone on bone contact causing bleeding and some small surface damage. All been cleaned up, so fingers crossed, a few weeks of healing then I will be able to go full steam with roastery build. :thumb: Thanks for the well wishes. Chester
Welcome back to the land of the living Chester :thumb: It takes over 12 months to heal from a hip operation so take it easy until then or you will undo all the good surgery work that was performed on you The six weeks that specialists quote is rubbish for a full recovery KK
@GG that's the inside of my left hip and the top of the femur. The chunky white piece is a piece of torn cartilage about to be zapped away by the burr instrument. If you look closely behind the burr top and bottom is the fixing wires that were anchored in my original surgery 6 months ago. Pretty slow recovery I am finding, still plenty of pain but starting to walk on it again and even better the shed builders are coming this week to put up the roastery :thumb: Chester
Looks a bit like my knee was before I had all the furry bits ground off the inside of the kneecap. It was six months before I could kneel again which was a bit limiting..
Looking good Chester :thumb: Hope you have plenty of assistants with moving the "Silver Streak" into its new home. With the Slayer nearby and warmed up, there should be no shortage of help. Shame I'm so far away. Ah well, enjoy the process mate. :coffee2:
Thanks Kevohere, a bit to do with lining, electrics and some paving / garden once the shed guy finishes, so still a few weeks before the SilverStreak and the Slayer switch over. Getting closer though :thumb:. Attachment not found.Attachment not found.
