Yep, that sounds about right. The reason that there are so many owner-builders licenses in circulation is that the brilliant tradies are just too busy or thin on the ground and there are too many average ones: ready to double and triple-book jobs they can kinda, sorta, do! It's the great tradies I feel for... The alsorans give them a bad name.

Finally have some confirmed dates for the start of the roastery. 15th of this month slab going down, 19th shed kit being delivered, 22nd the shed builders are coming. 22nd :doh: also the same day I am now having the second round of hip surgery (not something you knock back when your on a waiting list trying to get your life back), why can a persons plan never go smoothly despite putting in a great deal of effort to try and ensure they do :pan Everything will work out in the end, everything will work out in the end, everythi....... if I just keep telling myself that

Oh man... Concreters. We did it ourselves. Practiced the screeding with sand, mates on shovels, 24 months on and no cracking. Better yet, no waiting around for them to show up and then when they did they down-tooled after 10 minutes to run off to rescue a job going off cause of lack of bodies. Sacked em, saved the money, didn't look back. It's not rocket science, but the muddy-guys would have you believe that it's witch-craft and they only work when the stars align. I feel for you mate!

Thanks BH, normally I would do the slab myself but because of the state of my hip I just physically can't

. Would have rather kept the coin in my pocket, but still going to be some time before I'm able bodied again, next surgery is next Monday, hoping they get it sorted this time and I don't have to go back for a hip replacement and can start getting back into life. Chester

9x4 C-man not a big job at all, spoke to the shed company today and they assure me it will be done before the weekend but can't give me a day. Previous sheds they have done for me for other people/businesses they have been great, mine has almost been like extracting teeth. Go figure. (I did screw them down for the bottom dollar price for the previous work I sent their way, pay back maybe)

So what's the final floor finish Chester ? Polished concrete would be spunky but costly. Tiles, well, I know how much ya love them. Epoxy is good but pricey, timber is the best of course but is pricey to lay on ply over concrete and feels a bit wrong with no "give" IMO. What's it gunna be big fella ?

how about 50/50 boncrete/water to just seal the dust. :thumb: We are doing a bit of an industrial feel and it is still only a home roastery even if it is of epic proportion. Maybe cliplock flooring, bamboo looks good. Undecided at the moment. Chester

Spoke to the concreter today, seems they only received the contract today :head: So slab has been booked in for Wednesday. Hopefully things will start moving in the right direction now. Chester

I feel for you mate! I hate being at someone else's mercy when it comes to schedules. At lest you set up the slayer... Imagine if you hadn't and had to walk past it every day, waiting, waiting...see, that better already eh!

Thanks Brett "the silver lining" it's always there you just have to remember to look. So new schedule is;- slab Wednesday, kit arrives Friday, installers following Monday (if all goes to plan) Will just need to recover quickly from the hip surgery so I can do all the other work to finish the inside and then move the slayer and roaster across. Want to run before I can walk ;D Chester
