After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Just starting this thread to have a formal place to expose your " Espresso Machine " pride and joy
( Please note - This thread is not intended for rebuilds in progress )
Just the finished product

It would be fantastic to have the posters story if any of the subject at hand

  • Not sure if it qualifies as an espresso machine! Atomic Sorrentina, green bakelite model, rare & mint condition.

  • The making of an espresso god shot on my Bezzera BZ07 PID. Man, I'm loving this coffee machine. BTn2Wl.jpg From my own roast of Guatemalan Finca Liquidambar.
  • Awesome Kelsey, looks good enough to ....err.....eat :D :thumb:
  • Not there yet AM, tho Jus surely wishes we were!
  • And another super pour this morning: 25 seconds of ristretto goodness from the Finca Liquidambar roast. Will be doing more of that this week if the weather fines up.
  • Here's my humble stable of the Compak K3 grinder and the Rancilio Silvia with Auber PID  :thumb:
  • Where did you get the shot timer?
  • pic of my bench at home 20120804_130719.jpg
  • Yeah baby!!! :thumb:  now that's a setup!  Nice one lemoo!
  • My humble little set up. The baskets hold the cups, beans, milk jugs and accessories. Behind the curtains is the stash of greens. :)
  • My 2 current coffee producing machines.  Some might scoff at the moka pot but my Italian step-mother, who's family has owned the same house for 600 years, uses one daily   I use mine for the rare times we get power failures, camping and motels without decent coffee. Not humble, just gloriously compact!

  • 34hgopv.jpg I know you all know what it looks like but I have to show it off to someone  :coffee2:.
  • I don't have tears... I just got something in my eye.... Lei a simpaticissima e bellissima!  Congratulations... She makes the space!

Love it! And the coloured cups. Hope this machine brings you all the joy of caffeine in the world.
  • I posted these pics on my "hello" thread but I thought I'd put some pics here too. I call this space "cafe domobar" and it aligns nicely with the 'domobar' The pic of the coffee is a short macchiato with some art - poured in a little bialetti cup (while the coffee gear was in its temp space)
  • Hands Brett a tissue, not the eucalyptus ones either . Thank you :). Thank you GeekKopi, I am sure it will. I am currently having one of the best coffees I have made with a square of Lindt Arabica choccie  ^-^. The cups are Rockinghams in case anyone was wondering.
  • I should also add a huge thank you to Attilio for organising the shipping of the machine down to Adelaide for me. It is very much appreciated :).

nice cups. I'll need to get me a set for cuppacinos. I've already got heaps of cups but it's never enough. [emoji41]
  • I love nice cups. I have a set of the InCasa face cups, I love them but they are not big enough for me lol. I have a pic of them in the cup thread if interested.

He's a bit of a star!  mine too!!
  • He is a bit Brett. I wonder if his ears are burning  ;D.
  • Just thought that it's good to have a lever espresso machine in this thread ? Close to 4 years of ownership and still looks like new  Yes it's my Bezzera Strega KK

now I'm getting jealous. Very nice KK Speaking of levers this is what I'm thinking for my commercial coffee bar sometime in the near future. pompei-4-group-1347831718.jpg
  • Having a machine like that would be a great talking point away from the world of push buttons. Here in Perth, there are no cafes offering levers apart from one in a tourist strip in the CBD, but the coffee coming out of those is rubbish, not due to machinery, but of unsound technique and average beans. If you,re in lever envy and happen to be around south west Victoria, there,s a cafe in Koroit that has  a commercial lever and shop roasted beans. [emoji106]

  • 596f7f0d520f09c57d3d0eee44ad3ba5.jpg My recently-acquired Expobar Office Control alongside my trusty Macap M4D. The Control is my first HX machine after several years with a Breville Barista Express. Purchased it second hand and love the coffee it produces. Built like a tank and not as pretty as the exposed-group machines, but an absolute workhorse from what I've seen so far. Oh and please excuse the Jarrah beside it. Have to cater for all tastes, and some oldies just prefer the instant stuff [emoji20] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
