Hi all,

I've had a tough few weeks here. Both personally and professionally it's been the hands-down hardest period of my life.

I haven't been around much and don't expect to be for another week or so yet.

But I wanted to take a moment to say thanks for the support.

I've had several members send me beans, unasked and in one case completely unexpectedly. I don't have time to roast, so it's an utter blessing to have gotten some quality brews in.

Thanks particularly to Lacehim, Bean Flying and Brett H.

I'll be back soon.

Glad the 'package' arrived. Been there.... Very... Very recently. We are now at 6 months and let me tell you it's still frantic and all encompassing but the difference is that it's a joy, not a melancholic stupor. It's easy to say it all be okay and you'll get there, but it's pretty hard to hear and believe it when the chips are down. One moment at a time and forget smelling the roses... savor the caffeinecoffee mate!

There is nothing wrong with PJ's. Sorry to digress, but last night around 9:30pm my mobile rang and I happened to actually hear it over the sound of the roaster. A customer who forgot to order coffee and had ran out (pretty familiar story) and asked if she get a few kilos to use first thing this morning. I said...."yeah sure, but I'm roasting and will be for a while yet, you are welcome to drop in and collect, we will get the remainder to you the next day".. She said "righto - thank you, will be there in 25 mins". I have a habit of wearing my earmuffs continuously - OK, they feel comfortable on because I've got massive wingnut ears. There was a bash at the door and as I passed via the front office, I notice my mobile had *many* missed calls from said customer. I went and opened the door and there was a small girl who said "excuse me mister, my mummy needs you at the car". OK, I walked up the dark driveway to the car that was parked near the fence at the end...... A somewhat embarrassed lady wound the window down and said " sorry Jeff, I changed my shoes but forgot I had my PJs on and I was not going to get out of the car and be seen in public like this".

My wife has PJs that look like casual clothes I myself don't wear PJs - so I need to get dressed :angel: KK

Ahh, Coffee, Community and Hope! I have been somewhat tardy when it comes to posting. Following the threads here for a while now and it is a nice reflection knowing that there are thoughtful, supporting members willing to "be there" for an associate at difficult times. Kelsey, Soak up all the positive energy, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I've got two under 4.5yrs and child no 2 was a no sleeper and it felt like going 12 rounds with Mike Tyson after 4th week at home... Sleep is the savour and if you can get rest when ever there is a chance! no one gives a stuff how the house looks, what your wearing.... we've been there and dont be afraid to ask for help. I dont offer parenting suggestions b/c I hate being told them! I will say though we were at wits ends and resorted to taking no 2 to the chiro at 8 weeks of age. Best $50 I ever spent and I am no fan of witch craft

Relief instantly as her spine was out from the birth - thanks to the maternal health nurse who suggested it. Chin up Jonty

Hi Kelsey Hopefully youre up for another story..., We had our two boys 15 months apart and yes things do eventually settle down. The first only slept through the night just twice in the first 12 months he'd take 1.5 hrs to resettle then up again after 2 hrs each and every night . I remember saying to my wife at 2 in the morning one night "can't remember reading this in any pharkin book!" I was pumping 8-10 espressos a day and having what I thought were heart probs....oh and then I got retrenched in the middle of all this too Sleep school, docs .... The lot One thing to remember, you and your wife are each other's best mates so batten down the hatches and look out for each other. Doesnt have to be extravagent either, youd be amazed how even the simple things as giving her a break for 2 hrs so she can run a bath can do wonders. The boys are now 8 and 6.5 and I can't think of my life without them... So hang in ther mate Oh and Then another fun starts - one broke his leg at 2 and the other had his wrist broken at 5. Its all shit at the time but just keep rolling with the punches all these become stories to tell While My kids are still young, there are many others here who are at the other end of the spectrum - take the time to listen to their pearls of wisdom and seek comfort that you're not alone Good luck Seeya George

It is great to see how much kindness and support this community can offer during a difficult time. A thoughtful message, a good cup of coffee, or even a simple gesture can make a hard week feel a little lighter. Sunday mornings are also a nice opportunity to pause and appreciate those small acts of kindness, and good sunday morning blessings images can be a simple way to send warm wishes and encouragement to friends who may need a little positivity.
