After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

New definition of 'Coffee on the go'!

This may be a sign of things to come for the coffee [or was that car] industry??

  • Surely this is just a gimmicky promotion that is just a quirk that won't see use by prospective owners after the first day/week.
  • Lavazza the starbucks of Italy - almost slanderous. I dont think the Italians would want to be associated with either :D
  • actually I wouldn't really call "Lavazza the Starbucks of Italy" - remember although the 'inventors'  of espresso, the Italians don't have the benefit of having been through the fantastic espresso coffee 'revolution' that we've had in the last 10 years in Australia, and similarly that has occurred in NZ and in some of the west coast cities of the US [Seattle and Portland, in particular]... So although we are privileged to have fantastic fresh coffee bought to us [at least in the big cities] by hundreds of enthusiastic small roasters, none of the big european countries [including Italy] have been through this phase. For the record, it's also why typically the worst places to go for coffee in Sydney and Melbourne are the 'old-style' italian places like Lygon St in Melb. and Leichhardt in Sydney, but that's another story. But certainly, Lavazza is still considered one of the better Italian coffee brands [put it this way, I could name some that are a lot worse]. For the record, I have to say they have also been responsible [especially due to the enlightened advocacy of John Storey in Sydney, in particular] for bringing the quality of espresso to the forefront of many peoples' thinking in the early years [10-15 years ago] of Australian 'new era' espresso coffee.
