After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Hi guys - just interested to know who might be intending to turn up to this year's Aroma Festival at The Rocks in Sydney?

    I dont think there is any equipment in the museum this year. they are renovating or something. i wont be going just for coffee

    I won't be going, that's for sure. Huge crowd of sheeple & lots of vendors hawking absolute rubbish. Is it actually going back to a coffee focus this year after the chocolate & other products extravaganza of the last 2 or so?

    Here is the deal wrt the Domestic Espresso Machine Expo that would have been held in the Museum. SHFA (Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority) sends out the usual vendor package advertising the Aroma Coffee Festival with Domestic Machine Expo in the Museum. Vendors submit their entries. SHFA then advises the Museum is unavailable this year due to renovations and Domestic Machine Expo wont be held...... Like.....they only found out about the renos the week the entries are due??????....and not several months or even a year in advance????????????????????/ SHFA banks our entry money despite advisng our paperwork would be returned. This little ducky  still waiting for return of money after two polite reminders. Domestic machine Expo......SHFA.....way to go???????????????? That said, its a lovely day out whether you want to sample anyone's coffee or not so for Sydneysiders that can get there easily, why not? Attilio very first Crema Site Sponsor

    yep. That sounds like the SHFA I know and er, groan about. I dealt with them a LOT in my last job and even their planning for major refurb projects was as ass-backwards as this. They have no idea what they are up most of the time. Frightening when you consider just how much they are responsible for. The Domestic Machine Expo has been the only thing to draw me to Aroma the last couple of times. So. Many. Shiny. Things.

    Agree with all Attilio bar the last line... It's not really a lovely day out as it is packed, queued and as others have said, mostly rubbish. If you and Charlie were going to be there, then things change  ;) No expo, no go.... Rider, who will probably go riding...or may play golf.

    Got to say we are looking forward to not moving the whole shop down to the rocks like we do each year. Deb and I might actually get to see it this year for the first time - but going early will be the key! Have a great day those of you that do brave the crush  :-\, charlie

    I went. First time so I had no prior experience or particular expectations. It was crowded and the churros I had were absolutely awful. Got a coffee from Toby's before moving on to look at the Breville db. Made a coffee on it (also Toby's beans). Not a bad little machine, it worked as advertised  :) and I enjoyed the coffee from it. On the whole I enjoyed it, but as I said, no prior experiences to go on.
