Hi everyone, I’m an industrial design student at UNSW working on a university project looking at home espresso workflow and puck removal habits.

Really interesting topic as well. I’ve noticed my own workflow has evolved a lot over time, especially around puck prep and cleanup. At home, you’ve got way more control compared to café environments where speed often dominates consistency
One thing I’ve personally changed is being more consistent with distribution and puck removal—it actually made a noticeable difference in shot quality and less mess overall.
Also curious to see the results once you compile everything—would be great if you could share a summary here later!
