After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Where are you Sue?

Haven't seen Sue (Cuir Beluga ) on line for a few days, trust all is OK.

  • Hi DB, I'm still here, I've been popping in and having a read. I just don't have anything to add at the moment  8). Thanks for thinking of me  :coffee2:.
  • Hi Sue, pleased all is OK. Have well and truly settled in to the life of a bachelor with two cats and a dog, rapidly coming to an end, Heather due back in a little over a week, will be pleased to see her. Like you things have been quiet on the coffee front this end. LaPavoni going well, however will be pleased to see the Bezzera back in its usual position. :)
  • It's always the way, you get used to something and then it has to end. You do still have a week left so make the most of it :P. Things were quiet on the caffeinated front but I have just come up against an issue so am wracking my brains over that at the mo. I still can't get used to the quiet operation of the La Pav. How long until the Bezzera is back in her rightful place?
  • Returning home with Heather Sue, soooooo, big day coming up, the boss arrives home with the Bezzera. ;D How are you finding the Pav compared to the Splendor? mine is certainly a lot better than French press and such, however doesn't come close to what I get from the Bezzera. :)
  • That's very interesting DB.  I can get a supurb coffee put of the Pav that compares to my big machine.... well... Good but different.  I use a smaller tumbler for the Pav as I extract less than wth a 58mm but apart from that perhaps my standards are lower
  • Will be interesting to do a side by side test, cant see how I can improve on what I'm doing with the Pav, perhaps I'm not allowing it to heat up enough, have been told over and over don't let em overheat, perhaps I've gone the other way????. :coffee2:

So exciting :D, I know I would miss my Splendor :P. Over the two I would say I prefer using the Splendor however I have had some great shots out of the La Pav but I haven't spent much time tinkering, obviously the La Pav is a quicker heat but I am still trying to get my head around it and I am still waiting for hubby to give it a once over  ::).
