After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

em9610

edited January 1970 in Espresso Machines
Im now looking for a new machine, i had a delongie, returned that. have been runing a nemox for 2 years and the shop after problems told me would replace machine to same value.  when i returned my nemox to supplier 4 months ago i was under the impression that the sb em9600 was a great machine.  only just found out that had been withdrawn from market.

wanting help on what machines in this price range that are not going to spend more time being fixed than being used.

  • if i was looking for a machine with that budget i would think twice about the sunbeeam and seriously read up about the issues people are having. i could care less about after sales service or getting replacmenets, imo a coffee machine should be set and forget. if these things are busting now, whats gonna happen in 2 or 3 years ? i would be saving a little money and buying a rancilio silvia.
  • G'day Jagerbrau, firstly, do you have a grinder? If you do, then there are a few machines that are around this price bracket that will serve you well. Off the top of my head and in no particular order theres a Gaggia classic, Nemox Caffe Fennice or Junior, Imat Mokita, Solis SL 70 & 90. There's probably a few more that I've forgotten about. If you don't have a grinder, you'll have to budget for a decent one otherwise you'll be chasing your tail trying to get a good result with pre-ground coffee. Hope this helps.
  • I had the nemox machine, was never quiet happy with the coffee i produced.  it ended up falling apart and a few other problems.  Nemox rebuilt the machine, but DJs who i got it from have now said i can pick from there machines.  i have a nemox grinder which i love.  Going a little nuts as my machine has been gone for 4 months.
  • em6910 i swear i should read things before posting
  • I think we all knew what you meant ;D I have a EM6900 number four. It's three weeks old, and as I type, it's making great coffee.......but it's still early days. :-/ Don
