After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

oldest coffee van operator

I'd like to own a record before I finally retire, so does anyone know of a Mobile Coffee Van Operator older than me? I'm 72 and working a daily round selling between 80 and 100 coffees a day.

Wow a forever young member @ a spritely 72 No I don't - these days it's girls in short shorts as mobile van coffee operators KK
  • Well done tcmp I have a mobile operator that will only admit to "over 65" who works 2 days a week and the odd weekend. A cafe owner who is 85 and has 4 generations of her family working in her cafe. But yes, it takes a whole lot more energy to run a mobile biz so congratulations that is an outstanding achievement.
  • Where abouts do you operate ? Brisso's can drop by and sample the goods  :thumb:

Mainly Chetwynd Industrial Estate, Loganholme. It's all on my web site http://www.themobilecoffeepod.com/index.php?page_id=5.
  • Bugger. I rarely get down that way.
  • That is some achievement, and you have followed your dream of running a business that is uniquely yours. And it also amazing to know you have worked in all kinds of conditions outdoors, rain, hail, burning sun and wind. Hats off to you.

Maybe you will see us at one of our events. I usually diary them on my web site and facebook. I've been chasing 'likes' as it seems to bring my site forward on Google. Not sure if this is true. My facebook link is on my website home page. Every little bit helps to promote so go ahead and 'make my day'!
  • At first glance I thought this post referred to the oldest coffee van operating ! I know St Ali just purchased a van that looks like an original 50s vehicle... But 72, that's a tremendous effort !
