Stupid Award for the Week...

Well those with an interest in Tents will be aware that last Sunday Arvo I spontaneously decided to bundle the kids in the car and head down the Gold Coast for a look-see at the massively eroded foreshore and some fish and chips at the beach...

Well after a couple of stops at the Spit and Southport beach we made it down to Narrowneck and the exposed rock retaining walls and stairways of old were really interesting to see... The eroded beach face was easily 4m high in places...

Some bright spark decided to show off and do some Superman jumps off into the powder soft sand....
Worked a couple of times but suffice to say my old bod just doesn't bounce like a young blokes any more...

Apparently the landing sounded like a cross between a giant belly whacker and a massive camel fart...

I can tell you it felt like I had a shovel full of red hot coals dumped down my shirt...
And then rubbed in really well, for good measure...

Now, a mercy dash to hospital where I can recall being castigated by my children for being such an irresponsible parent... And the doctor asking at least three times whether I didn't actually fall down the cliff, rather than jumped?

The good news is I didn't break anything... The bad news is well it's gonna take quite a while before I'll be up and walking around again....

So, without further ado, unless someone wants to challenge my nomination...
I hereby crown myself "Captain Stupid", for the week....

The first two people to run over we're a couple of young surfer's jogging up the beach, apparently, "That was gnarly dude!" Eldest Son, (first year med student at UQ), "Dad, that was easily the most stupid thing I've seen you do!".... "You alright?, you look awfully pale...." Middle son: "I could not believe you actually did that! You're an absolute idiot" Daughter, "Dad you know Mum's gonna kill you when she gets hold of you!"
