Its a passion of mine and I know I'm not alone.  A good place to talk Moto GP, F 1, V8 supercar, Dakar, Rallying etc...

I'll start with the first round of the moto gp for 2012.

Bikes are 1000 cc, up from 800 last year. Higher top speed but slower in the corners. Stoner suffered chatter in the front of the Honda allowing both Pedrosa ( Honda) and Lorenzo (Yamaha) through with Lorenzo claiming the win. The Hondas and Yamahas were the standout bikes last year and look to be the same this year. Ducati have a deep hole to extract themselves out of with Rossi finishing 10th and Hayden 6th. If only Rossi stayed with Yamaha. I think they will get there but will it be too late - Valentino cant have that many seasons left in him

Well chatter and tyre wear have been attributed to the Stoner demise, but the champ himself claims arm pump..... he certainly appeared to be losing grip as they hunted him down.... Hearing Rossi has had a bit of a dummy spit as well. Not surprisingly having been smoked by his teammate and also being the last finishing Ducati.... more races just brings back the sound of JB and Rossi saying the bike will be easy to fix..... now that's funny.....

I dont think even JB knew how much of a dog that thing was/is. I like the way Casey rubs it in saying he won races on it no problem. Difference is, the Honda and Yamaha were not that much better when Stoner was on the Duc. Honda and Yammy made a huge leap forward last season while the Ducati stayed the same. The Italians are so bloody set in their own ways they wont change a thing without a fight - some would say we see this in espresso machines  :rofl:  I'd love to see rossi ride either the Honda or the Yammy in its current form and see what the results are. I think he has burnt his bridges a bit with Yammy and a lot with Honda. Heres hoping for a miracle in the name of competition

A lot of well informed journos and ex racers would disagree with you on the Honda and Yamaha "leap forward" last season. No company in its right mind is going to spend squillions developing a bike which in one year will be extinct. Rather, the development money went toward the RC213V and 1 litre YZR-M1. What Honda cleverly did was bag Stoner. This came about in a two fold stage - Ducati courting Lorenzo in 2009 (I think) behind Stoner's back when Stoner had a mystery illness..... and the combination of Ducati courting Rossi for the 'dream team' in 2011, thus freeing up Stoner for Honda in the process. It is well documented that WG, who still has a lot of pull at Honda, told them that they would be insane to pass this opportunity up. That is a lot of balls to front a Japanese company and belt them with that, but we are talking WG... balls plus... And the result was obvious... Honda now had the best bike and possibly the best rider, therefore the complete package and 2011 in the bag. Let's hope Honda learnt something from the spat and fallout with Rossi, when Honda said it is not the rider, but the bike. And can you believe that fallout was predominantly over placing the number one plate on the bike? As to whether Rossi is still there...... Personally I feel the broken leg may have spelled the end of domination, particularly with 3 or 4 hungry youngsters hounding him. It may be interesting to see him on a RC213V or YZR-M1, but he certainly would not be as dominant as previous years.

I used to hot up cars for customers - for them to race them at Castlereigh Raceway Sydney I would also make the trip down from Newcastle to see the races The cars I liked were the fast hotted up road registered ones [embed=425,349] I also loved the Go Carts KK

Nice bump D, So, Motogp 2013........ Didn't take long for the young upstart to show his colours  :laugh:  :laugh:  :laugh: Surprised by Lin Jarvis and Lorenzo responses..... Lorenzo still unhappy but accepting blame. Watching the race I thought there would be a HUGE stewards...... Your thoughts?

Yep me too. I thought there would be fisty cuffs. Still waiting for Rossi to get with one again with the bike and get right in there with them. I had written Pedrosa off until he had that run of wins late last year. He seems to have new determination and stepped up big time. He used to get rattled easily. The young upstart is the fly in everyones ointment I reckon. As long as Rossi keeps flogging the Duc's its all good  :D

Bikes Young Martinez crashed out pushing to hard in the last 3 laps He would have had 5 podium finishes in a row Unforced error, he was all alone and down he came - tyres probably worn to much for the bike to be leaned that much KK

Yep dunno what happened there KK. He just went straight on in the corner and dropped it. Bloody Baultista taking Valentino out - motherfucker. 90 % of the crowd were there to see Rossi and I reckon he would have had a real crack - ahh well.
