After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

behmor roasting question

so i noticed something interesting while roasting on my behmor

was putting a roast through P2/B on the behmor

according to the manual it says that p2 ramps up to 100% power to about 60% of the time and then drops the power back for about 30% of time

and for the last 10% of time ramps power back up to 100%

does this mean that the back elements should turn back on?
I was datalogging the temp change as well and noticed no increase in temperature before the program ended and went into the cooling cycle

the temperature drop was accurate @ 60% of time in but just didnt seem to increase from there and just slowly coasted to lower temps all the way to the end?

anyone else had the same experience?

Comments

  • Mine definitely does increase at that point, but not to 100% power. The elements don't go red hot, but there is definitely a "click" and the power increases (I haven't monitored with probe, but have put a power meter on the point).
  • hmm..interesting i shall listen out for that click on my next roast i just thought it was weird the temperature just kept plunging. not even stabilizing or a 1c increase at all what is your preference on programs richardm?
  • Answering that question is always fraught with danger, because every Behmor is different, and every power supply is different, thus, my profile preference (1PP2B for ~315g) might not work for you following the exact same method.
  • that's understandable it was more of a out of curiosity question :)
