After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Finally! Good coffee in Epping!
For a few months, there's been a cafe across the road being built, with a sign, 'opening soon!'
Today I noticed they were finally open, and I wondered what the coffee is like - so in I went. The first thing I see of promise is the hopper of a mazzer grinder ... then the red and white 'La Marzocco' logo ... then nuova point espresso and cappuccino cups ... very nice cups ... then I asked the barista what brand of coffee they use ... CAMPOS!!!!
So I ordered a double flat white, and was very happy with it. Had a good little chat with the barista (amy), and she made me a few ristretto's to try - she was trying to get the grind spot on and the aircon was making things hard.
For too long, Epping has been a coffee desert - only the bookstore has been serving vaguely drinkable coffee, and the italian cafe across the road still insists on serving 80's mt everest cappuccino's. Finally I can get good coffee at home, I can sit in the sun at a cafe on saturday morning and drink good coffee!
So I know this is supposed to be in the rate your cafe section - I'll go put it there now, but I really think the people at Cafe Topiary, on Rawson St, Epping deserve attention for the simple fact that they are raising the standard of coffee in Epping. Keep up the great work!
EDIT: ash, as they've been open less than a week, do they qualify for an article in the 'new cafe' section of the mag?
