After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Here we go again.

I'm getting too old for this.

While we were in Thailand our daughter informed us that her husband has been posted to the US (Maryland) for three years, they leave early December.

So, before we arrived home from Thailand Heather had arranged a trip to Newcastle in the motor home, leaving next Wed, since getting back I've been flat out preparing the MH for the trip, that should take care of the next three weeks. ::)

Then in about March 2016 she is talking about a trip to the US ::) ::) ::) not sure I can handle the pace. :-|

  • Enjoy it DB!  I would love to travel and see Australia in a motorhome! :)  Problem is I would have to bring the kids! lol
  • Enjoy Db, some people only dream of doing something like that :).
  • Thanks guys, wish I were 20 years younger, not quite as resilient as I used to be. :(
  • Lol, me too Db  ;D.
  • DB, If you find yourself with a bit of spare time in Newcastle, contact my very dear friend Adrian at Peaberry's Coffee (tell him Carlini sent you to spy on him - he may even let you look at his Probat 60). Lovely guy. Cheers JC
  • Enjoy DB. you might need to fit out a mobile espresso set up [emoji41]

Depending on your time factor DB, I'm semi retired, in Maitland and could have time to catch up for a round :coffee2: or two. Just PM me for details if interested. Agree with JC about Adrian though. He is a top guy to chat with and I'm sure he would show you around the roastery. Several years back I had the chance to train and help him with roasting, but wrongly assumed that my trade industrial "deafness" would hinder me in detecting the all important 'crack'.  Sorry I made that choice now, considering my  :coffee2: progression and the bouts of "upgraditis" associated with this coffee journey. There are two days in the week that you can't change anything. Yesterday and tomorrow. So, let's all make the best of today! Either way, enjoy your travels. Kevo

Thanks Mycuppa, Our destination is in fact Soldiers Point, about 60 km North of Newcastle, we drive over through Dubbo and Maitland so bypass Newcastle completely. Thanks again for the tip, will make a note of Adrians details just in case. :)

  • Enjoy the travelling mate!  I've seen so little of the world comparatively!!  I might be a bit jealous.  I also wish I was twenty years younger!
  • i was just thinking this morning that Id love to do a coastal tour from melbourne to wa - but given that we're moving to queensland at the end of the year - that seems not likely to happen! p
