After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Hate to say it, but am afraid this one may be true: http://www.wnd.com/2013/02/florida-couple-addicted-to-coffee-enemas

  • that would work to get the caffeine buzz, too bad about the taste.
  • Someone posted that up on chat the other day. You have to laugh at the stupidity of some people.  They don't drink coffee because it's not good for you (according to them) but they will happily have it as an enema.  ::) Then they go on to say how it's improved there life, but their parents mention that they don't go out at all, don't go on holidays, and work for home, and it takes hours, so they watch TV and twitter?!?  Does that sound like something that's improved their life?  I think this should be treated like any drug addiction, the caffeine intake in that part of your body would be a lot more than if you drank it!  :coffee2: Regarding her bowl irritation, a stock enema would probably have improved that situation.  It just goes to show you how dangerous self diagnosis regarding health is.  Yes I Goggle stuff all the time, but I take the questions to my doctors/specialist to discuss.

I am very cautious about what I read on the net. Unless the author confirms they have medical expertise, has direct personal experience with the subject, or knows someone  with the relevant experience,  I look for further  confirmation before putting my trust in their  statements. In this case we have two separate people that are willing (for no commercial gain) to recommend a new way to enjoy coffee at risk of personal ridicule. Pretty conclusive. I happen to have a spare two group bezzera and some rubber hose. What could possibly go wrong? One more weekend project perhaps.
  • too late, its Friday and i am already having mine. oooohh
  • The health fad of this procedure has really grown legs in the last couple of years. Every couple of months we take a phone call from someone around Oz looking for Organic coffee to be ground and supplied in bulk for this very purpose - but it needs to be 100% organic else they will not touch it. They don't care about the taste or how it was roasted, just make sure it's organic. In particular, we have seen more people who are treating or recovering from cancer use this procedure. One customer purchased a whole year's supply - all 70kg of it, in a single transaction - despite our advice otherwise. I have seen a few of the alternative nutrition websites list the procedure as highly beneficial for primary organs such as liver and kidney rehabilitation.
  • enough to 'put the wind up you'  8) dR
  • But how do the froth the milk or those of us who want a flat white?
  • Anything consumed orally requires a double pass of the liver, thus breaking down the strength before entering the bloodstream. the uptake via the back passage will most likely only require a single pass of the liver before entering the bloodstream making the concentration much stronger I wonder if the high or effect is much different?
  • personally I'd only be supplying low grade robusta to get the job done - i mean its not as if they're going to taste the difference...
  • I wonder how many passes of the liver are required if organic green beans are used?

the body does not care what it is, just how it is administered. anything orally it automatically passes the liver twice, Injected into the muscle only one pass of the liver injected IV straight to the bloodstream (very dangerous) Up the back passage I am not sure, my guess is one pass of the liver
  • I thought this was the only use for Maxwell House... and International Roast... and Dormans. You guys don't believe they roast that stuff so you can drink it, do you?

Once worked with a guy that took his vodka that  way. apparently you get drunk on quite  small amounts and very quickly  too. Not something on my to do list though.

ha, ha, although you forgot Nescafe's [classic] Blend 43
  • In all honesty, I thought Blend 43 was actually a fair bit better than the other 3 - having said that, I grew up with my parents drinking the stuff.
  • My parents were the 43bean folk also.  My unlce and aunt were moccona folk making them the 'Lah-Dee-Dah' rich cousins.  Oh thank heavens for growing up!
  • Hey there - still think my suggestion [from another thread: http://www.bestcafes.com.au/forum/www-mycuppa-com-au/oh-dear-it-was-bound-to-happen/msg37354/#msg37354] is the best solution! A ;D
