2400w still seems like a massive element to me, not sure the extra 350w would make a huge difference, it seems most HX machines only have a 1300w element, so the recovery time should be pretty quick, especially considering it's a decent size boiler too?

Very good advice. My Bosco has a 6Litre boiler and a 2400W element. It takes 15 minutes to heat the water in the boiler to full pressure. For a much smaller boiler, going above 2400W is overkill. This is for domestic use. People wanting warm up times under 10 minutes should look in the appliance section. :stir

As a point of reference, if the 2800W (I assume...yeah...I know) model takes 3.5 minutes to get the boiler pressure up to full steam from cold, can any of you physics geeks work out how much longer it would take the 2400W heater to do the same? :pan

2400/2800 = approx 85% = 85/100 if you take the reciprocal = 100/85 which is about 18% longer 3.5 minutes = 210 seconds 1.18 x 210 = 250 seconds approx = 4minutes 10 seconds so as you can see the issue is not significant in terms of heating from cold the benefit is recovery time , which hits you again & again if you are using the machine to make multiple drinks, esp if drawing off water having said that the 2400W element is still pretty quick, and the whole reason we are offering as an option for 10A markets is so it is plug and play

Wow that drip tray looks HUGE, Reiss is definitely a maverick....broken away from tradition and opted for a plunge pool instead Sorry if it's been covered already but what's the official capacity of the tray?

1.5 Litre,machine is going to be 550mm deep, i know some people struggle to accommodate the Vibiemmes because they're 530mm deep, at 550 there's no way this will fit on my bench, especially with legs positioned so close to the corners.I guess it was necessary to stop the tipping over, plus having a tank on-board

1.5 L drip tray is not unusual... my Isomac holds more than that ! but on a lever m/c that doesn't need a big "cooling" flush routine,..then it is more than enough.

Thanks Kofekitt (although I just noticed...it was mentioned on pg4 :doh🙂 No problems if it's going on an island bench but even with people who have 600mm deep bench tops (which is the standard I believe here in AU for new kitchens) it'll be a snug fit when you allow for power cord clearance between the back of machine and wall.

I had a Tassie Oak bench/draws made to go the length of the back of my kitchen. It fits whatever machine I want, and the outlook over the garden is fabulous... when I clean the window :pan When you consider the price of these machines and the fact that many consider them functional art it seems a shame to shoe-horn them into a kitchen that isn't designed to take them. Think of Borat's picture of his machine in his living space over there in Dubai, a centerpiece of lovliness that lifts the room. I'm not saying don't buy one if you have a kitchen with limited space and opportunities... on the contrary... find/convert/build a space in your home where you can enjoy these beautiful things in all their glory without the better half wishing you had become interested Tea leaves every time she burns herself on the group-head grating carrots!

If we were staying in this apartment the plan was to create a coffee shrine in the living space. As we'll be moving soon we'll just have to see.

Your kitchen is very roomy Brett. You could fit a 4 group in there no probs & still see the turkeys 😃

Reiss, Given that Londinium II and III will be line fed, will this ever be an option for the Londinium I? In other words, will you offer a plumbed in version? By the way, the prototype looks good. It certainly looks solid and stable. I am curious as to the customisations you will offer. :thumb:

Lwowiak We've addressed this point in some detail on our blog already, and also further up the page here In short, we will offer a mains plumb kit for L1, but it will connect before the pump i.e. the pump will still be in the circuit & still function this ensures the machine works if your mains water pressure isn't adequate Reiss.

Yes... Love... I'm thinking one of the customisations could be a bronze scrub turkey akin to the bezzera and pavoni eagles. I'll provide working models for those interested. Seriously the customisations will be very exciting. I can see why big companies don't do this, it just isn't worth thir while but Londium I reckon are onto a bespoke winner especially when clients could potentially have a one-off if there are enough options. :thumb:
