After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Site page corrupted possibly?

I was wondering if anyone here has ever had a similar result when going into CS?

I went there initially from a link here, am trying to track down the original posted link that took me there. I get this result at every forum page, but I have found that I am able to go into individual posts from ther 'recently posted' direct links.

  • Most likely the result of their change of forum platforms. All the existing links for CS on this or any other site prior to the change of software will be broken due to this change. Normally this would just resolve to the site's home page or similar but there is clearly a glitch in it. Odd but not surprising.

No, I don't think so. The new CS site has been up for about a month. If it was a forum software problem, surely others would be reporting it as well. I have the same version of FF as madpierre and it works fine for me. The links don't work properly because Google has properly indexed the new site.
  • Any links off here will be wrong for all time as they end with .yabb with the change to Vbulletin the links are all different nothing to do with Google indexing either as links around the net are specifically pointed to the old yabb ones. Nothing to do with us just one of the issues faced making that sort of change. Old link http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1236075603 resolves to the home page so not totally broken but still broken. New Link to the same spot and clearly Different http://coffeesnobs.com.au/home-roasting-tips-tricks-ideas/27525-usb-temperature-data-logger-thermocouple-roastmonitorusb-software.html

I wasn't blaming Crema, just pointing out that madpierre's prob isn't likely to be a CS fault or others would be reporting it. Lots of FF v14 users. If you search CS now, you will get hits pointing to vBulletin site posts; a week or more ago they were pointing to YaBB posts. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply the links on other sites are not working because Google hasn't updated its indexes but reading my previous post again, I can see how that inference could be made. I was off on a bit of a tangent.

No problems with my train of thought being interrupted, KK. All the carriages are empty  ;)
  • Thanks for the feedback even though most of the techie stuff went way over  :D  I had previuously logged in there since the changes with not a problem at all, which led me to think the issue was with the link. Just had a thought as I type, I'll go there and log out then log back in again and see what happens. Even though when I went there this time I wasn't logged in there at the time. Unlogged or logged, was same result. Well that was interesting. Went there and logged out, logged in again same problem.  Logged out, cleared recent history, logged in and a perfectly clear screen. Who knows    :pan
