derrilex The agitator. I struggled with this for ages. I'm going with a 3 blade made from bits of whisk with a bent piece of metal at the base to try and keep the beans away from the centre. The blades work well but a few beans still get caught at the centre. I'll try it and see how it goes. Its ugly as but I'll judge it based on its function rather than its form
Brett_H http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_6598014_build-12v-5a-power-supply.html 2nd hand ones at the computer markets are really cheap but as always after modification have it tested and assessed by a qualified AM! A laptop power supply 2nd hand would be really cheap and better for what you want. http://www.sundaycomputermarket.com.au/computer%20market.html
Koffee_Kosmo If you feel that 3 wire blades are going to fast and forcing the beans to spill over the edge just remove one loop Looking good so far :thumb: KK
Brett_H I used a 1/4" copper pipe that had the centre drilled out and the ends flanged out. I'll post a pic later.

Despite appearances it agitates the beans very well and because it is so malleable I could tweak it for best coverage. The SS wires are from an old rotisserie.
derrilex Ended up with the 12V 5 amp unit from jaycar. Got a cheapie fan, not a eco friendly one and a bucket.
Koffee_Kosmo Looking "fan"tastic :thumb: Roaster looks nice as well, perhaps its roast day tomorrow if the Turbo Oven is sourced KK
Brett_H Mate... seriously, it looks a bit too pro! Spot the builder eh: Galvo strapping... Is there nothing it can't do!!! :thumb:
Koffee_Kosmo Don't forget to make a video of the roaster I would also like to take a video of both roaster versions side by side Have to tee up a day for it KK
derrilex Totally out of my league KK. Pics are one thing, vids quite another but you are more than welcome to handicam up anytime you want. Hopefully my greens arrive tomorrow and I'll get the TO from Chris and all shall be well :thumb:
derrilex See if this link works http://s1174.photobucket.com/albums/r603/derrilex/roaster%20vid%20test/
Koffee_Kosmo derrilex wrote: See if this link works http://s1174.photobucket.com/albums/r603/derrilex/roaster%20vid%20test/ Yes it works with smooth operation Not bad for a few days work :thumb: KK
Koffee_Kosmo I also feel now seeing the beans agitate that it could use a little taming We can tame it by altering and tweaking the blades KK
Koffee_Kosmo derrilex wrote: 12 V AM. KK, I guess so. Take one off ? It's the amps that gives the juice for speed Yes cut one off and see how it goes Have a look at the KK videos on my you tube channel for a visual http://youtu.be/Hj1IQ8MtPWo KK
derrilex I know what you're thinking AM, variable resistor ? Couyld probably cobble something together from a fan speed resistor
Koffee_Kosmo The first roast would be considered as :thumb: The second ( Photos 3&4 ) roast looks like its on the verge of second crack and needed a little more time That should not distract you from sampling it, it will just need extra time to degas KK
