buying a machine

sb

Hi all,
I'm new to all this so i hope someone out there can point me in the right direction. I am looking to buy a machine for home (not automatic) that isn't too bulky. My price range is b/w $700 - $1000. I've seen the 'coffee for connoisseurs' website, they have a silvia machine in my price range. Any advise or suggestions?

Lots of people have the Silvia and give great reviews for it. If you don't have a grinder, I would suggest setting aside a portion of that budget for a good burr grinder. The grinder will have the greatest impact on the quality of coffee from any machine. One person to talk to would be Fresh_Coffee. He will point you in the right direction for a machine/grinder that will best fit into your budget.
