New Brewing Device - Launch of the Brewover

Bean_Green

Hi guys,
Myself and the great Manna Beans over on the southside of Brisbane have launched a little project this week.
We have created a new brewing devise called the BREWOVER.
The main reason behind this was because i wanted a bigger manual pourover brewing method. Something bigger than a Chemex and Simon wanted to create a more compact method for cold drip and cold brew coffee. So we incorporated the 2. It has taken us about a year and 6 prototypes to get to the final product and are so happy with the final results.
We have launched the BREWOVER on kickstarter (a crowd funding website)and would love the support of the whole Australia Coffee industry to kick this project off. We have offered a very good deal the pre-purchasing the product.
Please check it out on www.Brewover.com or www.brewover.com.au and the link to www.kickstarter.com is on the website. it has been up for 2 days and the support has been great.
We would really appropriate the support to get this Australian made and designed project off the ground.
Cheers Brendan from BeanGreen.

Hey Brendan, looks great, what an exciting project. I threw a couple of hundred at it, I love kickstarter projects - such a great way to help fund while also getting a 'reward'. I am going to be overseas next march or I would have gone for the top pledge! Best of luck mate.

Just came here to post about this and gauge people's opinion on it. It made it to /r/coffee on reddit so expect a decent response. I just wish I got there early enough to be an early bird!

lemoo

yup backed it as well! hope they do well

Naki_chap

Good luck to you , just placed a pledge :thumb:

Brett_H

I don't need one of these. I probably wouldnt use it. So why do I want it so badly.... Backed!

lemoo

hahahha I don't need one either, already have a cold drip tower, ccd, v60, hario mizudashi for full immersion but i still backed it! hard to say no to new toys!

eggbert

Only 50% of the way to funding with 8 days to go. Not looking ood 🙁

Brett_H

Shame really! We can only hope for a late influx of buyers. These guys deserve every success and their product looks so much better than anything else in that price bracket. In fact, it's a veritable category killer!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brewover/brewover-cold-brew-coffee-and-control-flow-pour-ov/comments - They seem confident. I'd say some money will "miraculously appear" in the last 24 hours... just a feeling i have.

Ah bugger it, I just pledged. Looks like a pretty good design and I like everyone else like toys. 🙂

eggbert

Looks like it failed - got an email this morning saying that the project has been cancelled.

Brett_H

Yes but the good news is that there will be a 2.0 offering: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brewover/781066997?token=1ecfe9d9

Lacehim

It's been relaunched with a revised $ target of $35,000. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brewover/brewover-20-coffee-system Currently has 50% of the pledges with 55 days to go. 🙂

Brett_H

I missed the early bird because inwas asleep :/ I'll find time in the next week to,pledge

eggbert

I went on within 5 minutes of receiving the email and the early birds had all gone.

I got the same message egg. I re logged in and snag the initial offer @ 60. They were keeping it open for 7 days to allow all to get on board..... No limit on the $60 offer!

eggbert

But domestic postage was free for the first 23 $55 backers. A lot of people have been talking their sweet time over signing up again. I hope the 60 day funding drive hasn't put them off after already waiting however long it was for part 1

Lacehim

So far $22,139 of $35.000. The early bird $55 is still open for a few hours Brett, so total cost is $65 with postage. If you snooze you'll be up for $70 inc postage. The free postage one only had 23 backers so that wouldn't have taken long. Regardless it looks like it could be a fun device to play with.

Lacehim

Yay! Just got an email that the brew over is now 100% funded! Great news for Brendan and co. And me! Can't wait to get my hands on it later in the year!
