After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

san marino 'lisa' smsa-ss

edited January 1970 in Espresso Machines
my work has just bought a second-hand san marino machine
(2 group head).  it looks to be in pretty good nick (our old machine was pretty bad, so anything is an improvement).

i was wondering if anybody has used this machine before?  any tips or comments?

  • be sure to run a long flush before your extraction, they run very hot. They steam very well though, great pressure and tips.
  • Excellent machine very easy to service and reliable with plenty of spares avalible. Yes they can run hot but so do 99% of machine on the market

Don't you mean "so do 99% of the CHEAP machines on the market"

So in your opinion and experience which machines DON'T run hot? if left to sit idle for more than a couple of minutes?
  • I sell the ECM Michealangelo to my wholesale accounts. Great running temp and temp stability. Others include anything PID or twin boiler, some Cimbali and many I have never come across.
