I will arrive in Australia beginning of October and will be looking for gigs or a gig for up to two months.
I'll arrive for a week or so to Brisbane and then will head to Melbourne area. But no specific timelines etc.

I can offer:
- Training, for coffee roasting.
- Help to develop roasting profiles.
- Repair roasting practices and workflow.
- Teach, profile sample roasting.
- Teach coffee brewing and principles.
- Barista trainings
- Can do some simple help work too.

Preferably in Melbourne and area. East Coast is ok too. Or if there is something really cool project then it really doesn't matter where in AU.

Yes, I will need to start at the bottom and learn from the maestro's at the end of the portafilter as well as all aspects of the business. I am passionate about coffee and have been since I was making turkish coffees for family/friends since I was a teenager. Not long after that my espresso obsession began.

Happy to do shift/casual work during the week as it will allow me to spend time with the little one that we are expecting next month.

My 'home' experience has been mainly with e61's machines, Mazzer and Macap (doser and doserless, stepped and stepless) grinders. I have used a two-group volumetric commercial unit a couple months back and was able to pull fairly consistent shots and steam milk quite well. Latte art, thats a hit and miss, more of a miss but Im sure with plenty of practice I'm sure I can execute lovely rosetta's. I am well informed re: grinder adjustment for bean type etc to dial in my shots. Im methodical at home in that I weigh inputs/outputs to get my shots right but do understand than in a high volume commercial setting this probably wouldn't be done so much, maybe just weigh output, or dose into PF once grinder is dialled in for dosage, or simple dose, scrape top flat and tamp - regardless of which, consistency is required.

I have both statements of attainment in prep/serve espresso and food hygiene.

I'm very personable and customer/client focused with great comms skills that have been developed in a customer service role back in the day working at Coles, and throughout my teaching career as a lecturer and over the last few years working on client requirements on some major projects.

As in any small / medium sized coffee roasting business, the role will require the wearing of "many hats" with a mix of roles, ultimately including for the right person, the learning of roasting operations. This will include all aspects of packaging, warehousing and of course, cleaning. Coffee Roasting and its related operations is a dusty job, and of course the Roasting Section and associated Cupping Lab dont stay clean and well presented all by themselves...! 

The right person will be dynamic and want to learn and improve, have a responsible and flexible attitude, a desire to do the job well, and will take pride. He or she will be expected to contribute positively to our team.

Our Roasterie continues to grow. We use latest technology european roasting equipment, and have a well established small / medium business model with opportunities for internal advancement.

Internally, we have separate sections including:
Roasting operations, warehousing and deliveries
Equipment importation and sales of Home, Office, Cafe and Hotel equipment
Workshop
Training School, and
In House Cafe.

Most of the team now working in sales, training or apprentice roasting positions, started at the bottom and were promoted from within, making room for others to join such as with the position now being offered.

Like any small business, the role will require the wearing of "many hats" and the occasional "odd working hours" undertaking a mix of roles including learning and managing roasting operations along with other related tasks associated with the running of a specialty coffee company.

Make no mistake, the world of coffee roasting is no glamorous rock-star lifestyle - it's hard physical work and can involve working long and/or strange hours to get the job done.  Despite all the hard work, it can be truly fulfilling when people *love* your product/service.

Some days could have you stuck in the van for a couple of hours running a large urgent delivery, other days you may get to play with espresso gear and yet other days again where you need to move bags of coffee around in the storage racks or something even more horrid like using the packing machine for a few hours.
